The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has officially announced the Faculty Recruitment 2026 with multiple openings for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor posts. The detailed notification was published on 18-05-2026 at JNU Official Website under Advertisement No. RC/75/2026. Candidates holding qualifications such as Master’s Degree, M.A, M.Sc, M.E/M.Tech, MS, or Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2018 and meeting the required eligibility criteria can now submit their online applications from 18-05-2026 to 15-06-2026. Essential Qualifications (As per UGC Regulations 2018)

Professor:

  • Ph.D. in concerned/allied/relevant discipline
  • Minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed/Scopus/Web of Science/JAI indexed journals
  • Total Research Score of 120
  • Minimum 10 years teaching/research experience with evidence of guiding doctoral candidates

Associate Professor:

  • Ph.D. + Master’s degree with 55% marks
  • Minimum 8 years teaching/research experience
  • Minimum 7 publications + Research Score of 75

Assistant Professor:

  • Master’s degree with 55% marks + NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. as per UGC regulations
  • Relaxation of 5% in marks for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwD candidates

Relaxations as per GoI/UGC norms for reserved categories are applicable.

How to Apply for JNU Faculty Recruitment 2026

Applications must be submitted online only through the CU-CHAYAN portal on the JNU website. Candidates should:

  1. Register and fill the online application form carefully.
  2. Upload scanned copies of all required documents (photograph, certificates, marksheets, publications, NOC, etc.).
  3. Pay the application fee (if applicable).
  4. Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.

Important: Separate application must be submitted for each post.

Selection Process

  • Screening of applications based on qualifications, research score, and experience.
  • Shortlisting as per UGC norms and JNU criteria.
  • Personal Interview (may be conducted in Online/Offline or hybrid mode).

Final selection is based on performance in the interview and academic credentials.
