In a tectonic shift in Tamil Nadu politics, the fledgling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor C. Joseph Vijay, has emerged as the single-largest party in the 2026 Assembly elections, winning in 108 of the 234 constituencies — 10 seats short of a majority.
