A total of 130 vacancies have been announced for Para Legal Volunteers across two areas of Madhepura district. The selection of Para Legal Volunteers from villages or groups of villages is done on a zonal (area) basis. 100 posts are allocated for the District Headquarters (Jila Mukhyalay) area and 30 posts are for the Sub-Division of Udakishunganj.

Applications are invited from individuals (Male/Female) who have a genuine interest in serving society without any financial benefit and wish to work for the upliftment of the weak and deprived sections.
Eligible applicants include retired government servants, senior citizens, ANM workers, Anganwadi workers, doctors, students, members of non-governmental organisations and clubs, members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and any other individuals who have an interest in voluntary legal service.

DLSA Madhepura Para Legal Volunteer Honorarium & Benefits
Since Para Legal Volunteer is a voluntary role, it does not carry a regular monthly salary. An honorarium of ₹750/- per day is payable only on specific days when the PLV is specially assigned a task by the DLSA – such as when the PLV performs designated work as directed by DLSA/ELSO (P.O.) or when the PLV brings a person from a village to the DLSA or ADR Centre for legal aid.
The PLV is also expected to actively participate in the organisation of legal awareness camps and legal literacy programmes in their area. This engagement does not entitle the PLV to any service benefits, pension, provident fund, or any other perquisites associated with regular government employment. The selection and honorarium entitlement is limited to one year (2026–27).

The selection process consists of screening of applications followed by an interview. Submitted applications will be screened based on the eligibility criteria and the candidate’s interest in legal/social service. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview, the date, time, and venue of which will be communicated on the mobile number provided in the application form.
Since there is no written examination for this post, the interview and overall suitability of the candidate will be the basis for final selection. The decision of the Selection Committee will be final. Selected candidates will be informed and their names will also be published on the official website. The prescribed application form (Aavedan Prapatra) for Para Legal Volunteer selection under DLSA Madhepura is available in the official notification and on the website https://Madhepura.dcourts.gov.in. There are two forms included in the notification – the main Application Form (Aavedan Prapatra) and the Interview Form (Sakshatkar Patra).
