CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC), Chennai has published Notification No. SE-1/2026 dated 08 May 2026 for engagement of ITI Trade Apprentices and Technician (Diploma) Apprentices. A total of 16 ITI and 13 Diploma apprenticeship positions are available in various trades. The walk-in interview is scheduled on 20 May 2026. Interested candidates who have registered on the Apprenticeship Portal (Apprenticeship India / NATS) may appear for the walk-in interview as per the schedule.

Essential Qualification
- ITI Apprentices: ITI Pass in relevant trade (NCVT pattern)
- Diploma Apprentices: Diploma in relevant Engineering/Technology discipline
Other Eligibility Requirements
- Technician (Diploma) candidates who passed in 2022/2023/2024/2025 only
- Must have registered on Apprenticeship Portal (Apprenticeship India / NATS)
- Candidates should not have undergone/presently undergoing apprenticeship elsewhere
- No prior job experience of one year or more
CSIR-SERC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Age Limit
- ITI Apprentices: Minimum 14 years
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: 18 to 24 years (as on date of interview)
Age Relaxation:
- 5 years for SC/ST
- 3 years for OBC (NCL)
- Up to 10 years for PwD (additional for SC/ST/OBC)
