Senior IPS officer C.V. Anand on Friday (May 1, 2026) assumed charge as the Telangana Director General of Police, succeeding B. Shivadhar Reddy, who retired from service on April 30 after attaining superannuation.
The State government finalised Mr. Anand’s appointment in accordance with the Supreme Court guidelines laid down in the Prakash Singh case.
Addressing a press conference held after assuming charge as DGP of Telangana on May 1, 2026, C.V. Anand, said a traffic management and road safety bureau is being mulled.
