  • Anthropologist (Cultural Anthropology Division): Master’s degree in Anthropology of a recognized University with more than fifty percent papers in Cultural Anthropology in final year examination + Three years research experience in Anthropology.
  • Anthropologist (Physical Anthropology Division): Master’s degree in Anthropology of a recognized University with more than fifty percent papers in Physical Anthropology or Biological Anthropology in final year examination + Three years research experience in Anthropology.
  • Age Limit: Maximum 35 years (UR) and 38 years (OBC) as on closing date. Age relaxation is admissible for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Central Government employees as per Government of India rules.

UPSC Anthropologist Recruitment 2026 Salary

  • Selected candidates under UPSC Anthropologist Recruitment 2026 will be appointed on permanent Group-A Gazetted, Non-Ministerial posts in Level-10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500) along with applicable allowances.
