Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday criticised leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (United), alleging that they are “busy playing musical chairs for the CM seat” while a double murder has taken place in Araria.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader was referring to the crime that occurred over a parking dispute under the Forbesganj police station limits during the day. “This is the horrific state of affairs in Bihar, where in Forbesganj, Araria district, a man slit another man’s throat in the middle of the market and roamed around with his head amid hundreds of people. Later, the family of the deceased tracked down the killer and murdered him. The police, instead of maintaining law and order, were seen scrambling to save their own skins,” he said on X.
Mr. Yadav said the incident shows “just how utterly broken law and order” has become in Bihar. “What could be a bigger picture of this grand mess of a regime? The ruling BJP-JD(U) leaders are engrossed in their game of musical chairs for the ‘CM seat’, while incidents of looting, murder, crime, and rape keep rising every day in Bihar,” he said.
