CRPF Constable Tradesman Recruitment 2026 Overview

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has officially released a recruitment notification for Constable Tradesman . Selection Process

The recruitment process will consist of Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standards Test (PST), Computer Based Test (CBT), Trade/Skill Test, Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination (DME/RME).

  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Qualifying in nature.

    • For Constable (Driver, Motor Mechanic Vehicle, Gardner, Painter, Carpenter, Brass Band, Pipe Band, Cobbler, Tailor & Bugler): Male – 5 Kms race in 24 minutes; Female – 1.6 Kms in 8.30 minutes.
    • For Constable (Cook/Water Carrier, Barber & Hair Dresser, Washer man & Washer women, Safai Karmachari): Male – 1.6 Kms in 10 minutes; Female – 1.6 Kms in 12 minutes.
    • For Pioneer Wing (Mason / Electrician): Male – 1.6 Kms in 09 minutes.
    • Pregnant women candidates will be declared temporarily unfit.

  • Physical Standards Test (PST): Height, Chest (for males only) & Weight (proportionate to height & age).

    • Height: Male – 170 Cms (minimum); Female – 157 Cms (minimum). Relaxations applicable for certain categories (ST, NE States, Gorkhas, etc.).
    • Chest (Male only): Un-expanded – 80 Cms, Minimum expansion – 05 Cms. Relaxations applicable.
    • Candidates failing PST will be eliminated.

  • Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 marks (100 MCQs), duration 02 hours.

    • General Intelligence & Reasoning – 25 Qs / 25 Marks
    • General Knowledge & General Awareness – 25 Qs / 25 Marks
    • Elementary Mathematics – 25 Qs / 25 Marks
    • English/Hindi – 25 Qs / 25 Marks
    • Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
    • Qualifying marks: UR – 30%, EWS/OBC – 25%, SC/ST & others – 20%.
    • Marks will be normalized. Merit list prepared on CBT marks.

  • Trade/Skill Test: Qualifying in nature (50 marks, minimum 20 marks required). Practical assessment of the applied trade/post.
  • Document Verification (DV): Original documents (Matric certificate, Domicile/PRC, Trade certificates, Caste/EWS/ESM certificates, etc.) will be verified.
  • Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME): As per Uniform Guidelines issued by MHA. Temporary unfitness allowed only for pregnancy. Final selection subject to medical fitness.
  • Final merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in CBT (subject to qualifying all stages). Separate merit lists for male/female and each State/UT (All India basis for Pioneer posts).

How to Apply

Application Mode: Online only through CRPF website. No other mode will be accepted.

Steps to Apply:

  1. Visit the official website www.rect.crpf.gov.in.
  2. Click on the link for “Recruitment for the post of Constable (Technical & Tradesmen and Pioneer) 2026”.
  3. Register by providing basic details and generate Provisional Registration Number & Password.
  4. Fill the online application form carefully (personal details, educational qualification, trade/post applied, State/UT of domicile, etc.).
  5. Upload scanned copies of recent colour passport size photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration as per specifications.
  6. Pay the application fee online (if applicable) through BHIM, UPI, Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card or CSC Wallet.
  7. Submit the application and take printout of the application form & e-receipt for future reference.
  8. Candidates should bring two coloured printouts of the Admit Card at every stage of examination.

General Instructions

  • Recruitment is domicile-based for Technical & Tradesmen posts and All India basis for Pioneer posts. Candidates must submit valid Domicile/Permanent Residence Certificate of the applied State/UT at DV/DME.
  • Candidates must be citizens of India.
  • Disqualification: Candidates who have entered into or contracted marriage with a person having a spouse living or who, having a spouse living, have entered into or contracted marriage with any person (subject to personal law exemptions).
  • Age & educational qualification will be reckoned as on 01-01-2026.
  • Only Indian Nationals need to apply. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in PET/PST/CBT/Trade Test/DV/DME.
  • Mere submission of application or issue of Admit Card does not confer any right to selection.
  • The CRPF reserves the right to cancel/restrict/enlarge/modify the recruitment process without assigning any reason.
  • Any dispute arising out of this recruitment shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Courts having jurisdiction over the Examination Centres.
