A total of 35 Tracer (Civil) posts have been announced for direct recruitment under State-level cadre. Vacancies are distributed category-wise including Women and PwBD/Ex-Servicemen horizontal reservation as detailed below. The number of vacancies in any category may be increased or decreased as per actual requirements. Age as on 1st January of the year of advertisement publication. General/UR candidates must have completed 18 years and must not have completed 30 years as on 01-01-2026. As per CG Government circular dated 18.01.2024, a special relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit (making it 35 years) has been extended from 01.01.2024 to 31.12.2028 for local resident candidates of Chhattisgarh. Combined with all relaxations, the maximum age limit shall not exceed 45 years in any case.

Application fee must be paid online at the time of submitting the application form. As per CG Government rule, the examination fee paid will be refunded to Chhattisgarh domicile candidates who actually appear in the examination – the refund will be credited to the same bank account from which payment was made. Selection for Tracer (Civil) posts will be through a Written Competitive Examination conducted by CG Vyapam (Exam Code: WRDT26). A Selection Committee will be constituted by the appointing authority comprising three members as specified in Schedule-III of the Niyam. Merit list will be prepared category-wise and forwarded to the department. In case of equal marks, older candidates will be given priority. The final decision on eligibility/ineligibility of any candidate rests with the Chief Engineer, Water Resources Department, Chhattisgarh, Nawa Raipur Atal Nagar.
Written Examination Pattern (Exam Code: WRDT26)
Syllabus is prescribed by the Department and available on the Vyapam website under the “Syllabus” link. Three barcode stickers are provided on the question paper cover – candidates must affix one on the OMR sheet, one on the question paper cover page, and one on the attendance sheet at the designated place. OMR evaluation is done by OMR machine; no re-evaluation/re-checking is available. If a question is found defective, all candidates will receive bonus marks equally. Probation Period
Directly recruited candidates will be on probation for 3 years from date of joining. Probation period may be extended by up to 1 year at the discretion of the appointing authority if work is found unsatisfactory. Services may be terminated during or at the end of the probation period if the candidate is not found suitable. Successful completion of probation leads to regularization.
