Since October, last year, AP saw at least five major bus accidents in which the buses were gutted in fire and about 35 people were charred to death.
October 24, 2025: V Kaveri travels bus from Hyderabad caught fire near Kallur mandal in Kurnool district killing 19 passengers.
November 6, 2025: A bus bound to Odisha caught fire near Roddavalasa in Pachipenta of Parvathipuram-Manyam district. No one was injured in the incident.
January 21, 2026: AR BCVR private travels bus caught fire near Sirivella Metta in Nandyal district after colliding with a lorry killing three. The lorry also went up in flames.
March 3, 2026: A private travels bus went up in flames at Rushikonda in Visakhapatnam city limits. No one was injured.
March 20, 2026: A bus bound to Odisha caught fire near Tarapuram in Ramabhadrapuram mandal of Vizianagaram district. All passengers safe. Chitrakonda, Odsiha, MLA Mangu Khila, was also present in the bus.
March 26, 2026: A major road accident took place near Rayavaram in Markapuram district of Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district in the wee hours leaving at least 13 burnt to death and 25 injured. — Hareesh P.
