SSF Constable Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details
A total of 10 vacancies will be filled for Constable (Barber) and Constable (Washerman) posts under SSF Constable Recruitment 2025. Check post-wise and category-wise vacancy details in the table below.
- The vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease without any notice. Any change in the number of vacancies will be intimated through ITBPF Recruitment website i.e. https://recruitment.itbpolice.nic.in.
- 10% of the vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen in the respective Post/Category.
SSF Constable Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
Constable (Barber): Matriculation pass or equivalent from a recognised School or Institution/Board. Candidates will also have to pass a Trade Test in the profession.
Constable (Washerman): Matriculation pass or equivalent from a recognised School or Institution/Board. Candidates will also have to pass a Trade Test in the profession.
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 to 23 years of age as on the closing date 28 April 2026. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 29 April 2003 and not later than 28 April 2008.

Height: General Category – 170 cm; Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates from Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir region of J&K and Leh region of Ladakh – 165 cm; North-Eastern States (Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) – 162.5 cm; Scheduled Tribes from North-Eastern States and Left-Wing Extremism affected Districts – 160 cm; Scheduled Tribes other than North-Eastern States and Left-Wing Extremism affected Districts – 162.5 cm.
Chest (General Category): Unexpanded – 80 cm; Expanded – 85 cm.
Medical Standards: Both eye sights should be 6/6 without correction and without wearing glasses. Candidates must not suffer from knock-knees, flat foot, varicose veins or squint in the eyes, and must possess high colour vision and be in good mental and bodily health.
Note: Only Male Indian citizens are eligible to apply for these posts. Physically handicapped candidates are not eligible to apply.
SSF Constable Recruitment 2025 Salary
Selected candidates under SSF Constable Recruitment 2025 will receive the following pay and allowances:
Pay Scale of Level-2 in the Pay Matrix (Rs.19,900–63,200) as per 7th CPC. The post will also carry Dearness Allowance, free accommodation or HRA, Transport Allowance, Leave Travel Concession, and other allowances admissible to Central Civil Employees as applicable from time to time. Candidates will also be entitled to pension benefits under the New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme applicable for new entrants to Central Government Services w.e.f. 01 January 2004.

- General / OBC / EWS / Other Candidates: ₹100/- (Rupees One Hundred only)
- Exempted (Fee = Nil): Ex-Servicemen and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) category are exempted from payment of application fee.

SSF Constable Recruitment 2025 Selection Process
The SSF Constable (Barber & Washerman) Recruitment 2025 selection will be conducted in four phases:
- Phase I – Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Qualifying in nature; no marks awarded. Events include 1.6 km Race (within 7.30 minutes), Long Jump (11 feet, 3 chances), and High Jump (3½ feet, 3 chances). Candidates failing any event will be eliminated. PET will not be held for Ex-Servicemen.
- Phase I – Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates who qualify PET will be screened for Height, Chest and Weight measurements. Those not meeting the required physical standards will be eliminated. Candidates may appeal on the same day to the Appellate Authority through the Presiding Officer.
- Phase II – Written Examination (50 Marks): Objective type Multiple Choice Questions (OMR or CBT) of 1 hour duration covering General Awareness/GK (15 marks), Elementary Mathematics (10 marks), Analytical Aptitude (15 marks), and English/Hindi (10 marks). Minimum qualifying marks: 18 for UR & Ex-Servicemen; 17 for SC & OBC. No negative marking.
- Phase III – Trade Test (50 Marks): Candidates who qualify the written examination (10 times the category-wise vacancies) will appear for a Trade Test. Qualifying marks are 50% for all categories. Trade Test is qualifying in nature only.
- For Constable (Barber): Hair cutting of various types (20 marks), Body/head massage (15 marks), Knowledge of tools/machines used in trade (15 marks).
- For Constable (Washerman): Washing of various types of clothes (15 marks), Ironing of clothes (10 marks), Knowledge about dry-cleaning of clothes (10 marks), Knowledge about use of various detergents/washing powders/soaps (15 marks).
- Phase IV – Verification of Original Documents & Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification followed by Detailed Medical Examination. Candidates declared unfit in DME may undergo Review Medical Examination (RME) by giving written consent within 24 hours.
