A total of 91 vacancies will be filled for Teaching posts (Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor) under Delhi University Teaching Recruitment 2026 (Advt. No. R&P/316/2026 to R&P/320/2026) across various departments and faculties.
Delhi University Teaching Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates must satisfy the Delhi University Teaching eligibility criteria 2026 as per UGC norms and University of Delhi regulations.
- Educational Qualification: As per UGC Regulations 2018 (and amendments). Assistant Professor: Master’s degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a relevant subject and NET/Ph.D. in accordance with UGC norms. Associate Professor & Professor: Ph.D. degree in the concerned discipline with required publications and teaching/research experience.
- Experience: As prescribed by UGC for each post (relevant teaching/research experience required for Associate Professor and Professor).
- Age Limit: No upper age limit is prescribed for these faculty posts.
- Nationality: Indian citizens and other categories as per UGC/University rules.
Delhi University Teaching Salary 2026
Selected candidates will be appointed on permanent basis and will be placed in the Academic Pay Level as per 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) along with admissible allowances.
- Professor: Academic Level 14 – Rs. 1,44,200 – Rs. 2,18,200
- Associate Professor: Academic Level 13A – Rs. 1,31,400 – Rs. 2,17,100
- Assistant Professor: Academic Level 10 – Rs. 57,700 – Rs. 1,82,400

- Rs. 2,000/- for UR candidates
- Rs. 1,500/- for OBC / EWS & Women candidates

Delhi University Teaching Selection Process 2026
The selection process will be conducted as per UGC norms and University of Delhi recruitment rules.
- Screening: Shortlisting of candidates based on academic credentials, research publications, teaching/research experience and API score as per UGC guidelines.
- Seminar / Presentation: Required for Professor and Associate Professor posts and may be conducted for Assistant Professor posts depending on department requirements.
- Interview: Personal interview before the duly constituted Selection Committee.
- Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in Interview/Seminar, academic profile and verification of original documents.
