Kerala dental student death: Case against InstaPay loan app over alleged harassment

The police have registered a case against a loan app, InstaPay, in connection with the death of Anjarakandy Kannur Dental College student Nithin Raj R.L., invoking stringent legal provisions as allegations of harassment and institutional lapses mount and campus unrest continues.

The Chakkarakkal police in Kerala registered the case under Section 308 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Section 13 of the Kerala Money Lenders Act, 1958, and Section 9(1)(a) and 9(2) of the Kerala Prohibition of Charging Exorbitant Interest Act, 2012.
