The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday (April 10, 2026) released its manifesto for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly poll, promising to double the cash benefits for women and unemployed youth offered by the ruling Trinamool Congress government, and to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the State.

The manifesto, titled ‘Sankalpa Patra’, was released in Kolkata by Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah. It promises ₹3,000 a month to women as against ₹1,500 provided under the Mamata Banerjee-led government’s Lakshmir Bhandar scheme to about 2.42 crore beneficiaries.
