For Steno-Typist:

Step 1 – Written Examination (OMR Based): Candidates who qualify with minimum 40% marks in each paper will be shortlisted for the Typing/Proficiency Test in the ratio of 1:20 (20 times the number of vacancies).
Step 2 – Typing Test / Proficiency Test (Qualifying): Shortlisted candidates will appear for Typing Test (for Clerks) or Stenography Test (for Steno-Typists). This stage is qualifying only and carries no marks.
Step 3 – Final Merit List: Prepared based on Written Test marks of candidates who qualify the Typing/Proficiency Test. A waiting list will also be maintained.
Step 4 – Document Verification: Conducted after declaration of final result. Candidates must bring all original and photocopies of educational qualification documents, category certificates, and other required documents.
Tie-breaking: In case of equal merit, the older candidate will rank higher. If age is also equal, the candidate with a higher percentage in the Bachelor’s Degree will rank higher.
Selected candidates will be appointed under Common Cadre and are liable for transfer to any Department of Chandigarh Administration.
