Selection is purely merit-based. No written examination is conducted. Final selection is subject to eligibility verification, domicile verification, category-wise vacancy, and document verification. In case of equal marks, tie-break is by age (older candidate preferred); if age is also equal, candidate with higher educational qualification gets preference.
Stage 1 – Merit List (Based on Combined Academic Marks)
A merit list will be prepared in descending order of combined marks from all qualifying examinations: Intermediate + Graduation + Post Graduation (total marks of all examinations added together). Priority 2: If Priority 1 not available – any woman from a BPL family of the same Gram Sabha / Ward.
Priority 3: If Priority 2 not available – Widow / legally divorced / deserted woman from an Above Poverty Line (APL) family of the same Gram Sabha / Ward.
Priority 4: If Priority 3 not available – any woman from an APL family of the same Gram Sabha / Ward.
Priority 5: If no eligible candidate found in the same Gram Sabha under any of the above categories – category-wise selection from the concerned Nyaya Panchayat (same priority order).
Valid documents for Widow status: Death Certificate issued by Gram Panchayat Officer / concerned Urban Local Body and certified copy of Family Register. For divorced / deserted women: valid legal order issued by the competent Court.
Stage 3 – Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. All original documents and self-attested clean, readable photocopies must be produced. Documents not matching the online application will lead to cancellation. Forged / tampered documents will result in cancellation of candidature and legal action.

- THIS IS NOT A REGULAR GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT. Anganwadi Karyakatri is an honorary/contractual position under the Bal Vikas programme. Selected candidates will not be treated as regular government employees and will not be entitled to regular government employee benefits.
