A few unidentified persons broke open the locked doors of the Second ACMM Court and the Mobile Court located on the premises of the Principal District Court in Ongole on Thursday midnight. The miscreants also forced open an iron safe locker in the court hall, where important documents were kept. However, court staff reported that no documents or valuables were found missing.
Speaking to The Hindu, Ongole Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) R. Srinivasa Rao said the miscreants appeared to have made a failed attempt to steal certain documents from the court premises. As they could not find what they were looking for, they may have fled the spot in a hurry, he said, adding that an investigation is under way.
